I love to read. I’m not sure how many books I read each year, but I’ve always got several books going at once and cruise through one or two a week. Lots of different genres. Lots of different authors.
I like to recommend books. Usually, I try and match up a recommendation with what I think someone else might enjoy. Reading is a relatively personal endeavor, after all, and not everyone agrees on what is a good read.
Sometimes I recommend spiritual reading to other people. Often this is introduced with a lot of disclaimers, since reading of the heart is even more personal territory. I say all this as a set up to the forthcoming book recommendation.
If you are a Christian, you should read this book. It’s chock full of powerful, timely words about the nature of resurrection, salvation, and the implications for the church in today’s world. It’s written by one of the most thoughtful and articulate contemporary theologians. Read it all the way through. It’s worth it, I promise.
